Georgette Sarees

Georgette is the fabric most of our customers come back for. It is light, drapes close to the body without clinging, and pleats stay where you put them – which is why it works for a full day at the office or a long function. Our floral georgette sarees are priced at LKR 1,450 and every one includes a matching blouse piece.

Why georgette

Georgette is a lightly crinkled fabric with a matte finish and a slight stretch in the weave. Compared with silk it is far more forgiving – it resists creasing on a long bus or car journey, and it does not need the careful pressing a silk saree does. Compared with cotton it falls in softer folds and gives a slimmer line.

What you receive

Each saree comes as a single length with an unstitched blouse piece in a matching or contrast shade. Take it to your tailor for a jacket cut to your own measurements.

Care

Hand wash cold with mild detergent or dry clean. Do not wring. Dry in shade and press on low heat with a cloth between the iron and the fabric.
